Add in-game proximity voice chat to your Minecraft server using the Simple Voice Chat plugin. Players hear each other based on distance, with no external app required.

Requirements

  • A Minecraft Java Edition server on Paper, Spigot, Fabric, or Forge.
  • Every player installs the Simple Voice Chat client mod matching your server version.

Install the plugin

1

Download the plugin

Get the latest build from Modrinth for your server platform and Minecraft version.
2

Upload to the plugins folder

Open the Files tab and upload the .jar file to plugins/ (or mods/ on Fabric/Forge).
3

Restart the server

Restart from the console. The plugin generates its config at plugins/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties.
4

Open the voice port

Simple Voice Chat uses UDP on port 24454 by default. Check your server’s Network or Ports tab and make sure the port is allocated.

Test the connection

Join the server with the client mod installed. A microphone icon appears in the HUD when voice chat is active. Use the in-game key binding (default V) to talk.
If players cannot hear each other, verify the UDP port is open and that everyone is running a compatible client version.
